M5 - Mexican Brass
Serious fun: from the Baroque to Broadway!
M5 is Mexico’s foremost brass quintet, breaking the barriers of brass music genres as they take the Blues to the Opera and Bach to the back roads of Mexico. Playing everything from memory, M5 mixes classical, contemporary, folk, film and pops arrangements into concerts that merge chamber music with showmanship, costumes, lights, audience interaction and an irrepressible Latin American charm. M5 is unexpected, surprising, virtuosic and always entertaining.
M5 is portable - 5 men and their instruments. Outreach and residency activities include school assemblies, ensemble workshops, lecture- demonstrations, panel discussions, coaching on individual brass instruments, pre- concert and post-concert discussions, taught in English and/or Spanish.
Music in the Morning, Vancouver BC: We are grateful for the opportunity to have shared this amazing group of guys with Vancouver audiences. They have been incredible at getting the kids excited about music, about teaching them how to listen to music, and about the brass family of instruments – all under the cloak of serious entertainment! It doesn’t get much better than that.
